Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. I look forward to busting out the slow-cooker and making homemade apple cider, hot cocoa, and eggnog. My family loves to compile our favorite cocktails and show off to each other at our holiday parties. We always vote on the best cocktail and spend the evening devouring every last drop. I want to share our top three holiday cocktail beverages of 2024 -already tested for your satisfaction. We started early this season for your benefit. Cheers!
I will admit, I have a slight advantage with being an event planner by profession. Not only have I compiled the best recipes that my family loves, but I can vouch that the following recipes have been tested by (literally) thousands of people. These are my "go-to" recipes when planning holiday parties when I want to delight my guests. This post is immediately following my 8 Denver Destinations for a Great Cocktail, so you already know my obsession with a well-balanced cocktail. Let's take it further in case you want to mix one up yourself.
You may notice how colorful these drinks look when displayed. One goal of an event planner is to make the atmosphere look pleasing with color. One of the easiest ways to do that, and often over-looked, are the beverages. It's a unique surprise for most guests and it's usually inexpensive. Did I mention delicious?
If you know me personally, you know that one of my favorite cocktails is a White Russian. We have to jazz it up for the holidays. In my opinion there is one place that makes it perfectly to my taste, The Assembly Hall Bar and Market located on the ground floor of the Hyatt Regency Convention Center (Downtown Denver, CO). It's a whopping $15 for each White Russian but it's my favorite. Hence, why I love to have meetings at this location. My secret is out.
I love this next one because it's "healthy". Wheatgrass has iron, enzymes, magnesium, phytonutrients, 17 amino acids, vitamins (A,C, E,K, and B complex), chlorophyll, and proteins. It helps with digestion, detoxifying the body, boosting your metabolism, lowering our cholesterol, strengthening your immune system, and giving you energy. It lowers your blood pressure, improves your cognitive function, helps with diabetes, and relieves arthritis. (Healthline) Oh, it gives this cocktail is earthy green color and looks pretty in a rocks glass.
We can't forget champagne. Who wouldn't want a a sparkling gold flute of awesomeness? I discovered using luster dust, which is safe to drink, about three years ago and I never looked back. It's best with light-colored drinks and it doesn't have to be with alcohol. I have used this for birthday parties for kids (disclaimer: without alcohol) and it's always gotten ranting reviews. In all fairness, the parents received a complimentary (with alcohol) version. I never heard any complaints. It's the little things that help get those ranting reviews from my clients. It separates the newbie event planners from the veterans.
